By Dr. Richard Kaye There is a lot of research out there about the benefits of orthodontics as it relates to increased self-esteem… especially in children. We all know that prior to treatment, many children smile with their mouth closed, or don’t smile at all, because they are self-conscious about their teeth. After orthodontics, they’re more comfortable not only with their smile, but also their overall appearance. This increases confidence, which carries over to their interactions with peers and adults.

However, not much attention is paid to maximizing self-esteem throughout the orthodontic experience. We focus significant energy in this area at Morrone & Kaye Orthodontics.

When children come to us for treatment, they need to leave Morrone & Kaye feeling like a winner. That’s the mission. We always create a magnificent smile, but we also make sure that the patient feels great about him or herself throughout treatment.

Here’s how:

  • We design treatment plans with success in mind. All children are unique, and the treatment chosen has to work with that child's personality.
  • We build rapport. We’re genuinely interested in what is going on in your child's life. It helps the entire process to be on the same page.
  • We are always aware that there is a child behind those teeth. We cannot be successful without paying attention to both

Above all, we strive to be supportive when they’re getting used to being in treatment. Our goal is to become the cheerleading squad for our patients throughout treatment, and beyond.
